Educate!’s Rwanda Country Director Moderates at YouthConnekt Summit 2017

The YouthConnekt Africa Summit is Rwanda's largest youth and entrepreneurship conference. Hosted by Rwandan President Paul Kagame, the conference is a platform for all partners involved in youth development to synergize around policies, programs, and partnerships that help unleash Africa’s youth potential.

Donnalee Donaldson, Educate!’s Rwanda Country Director, joined government officials, stakeholders and policy-makers at the event as a moderator for the panel, Youth Driving Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), which explored how to connect young, high-achieving entrepreneurs with policy makers in order to drive SDGs forward.

Donnalee says: “It was a great pleasure to partner with the UNDP to moderate the Youth Driving SDGs panel. With over 2000 African youth at the Summit, and hundreds of African youth in our session at any given time, it was a perfect opportunity to bridge the gap between young entrepreneurs, and policymakers, which included senior officials from the AU, UNDP, SDG Centre for Africa, and even a government minister. I am proud that Educate!'s programs in East Africa have been proven to increase rates of entrepreneurship among secondary school graduates, thereby helping to achieve the YouthConnekt goal of creating 10 million entrepreneurs across Africa by 2020.”
